Some Points To Consider When Picking An Accountant From The Many Accountancy Services In The UK

For many business owners selecting an accountant to use from the large number of accountancy services available in the UK can be quite daunting. Here in this article we explore two of the points you need to consider.

ACCREDITATION

Accountants and accountancy services should be regulated by certain professional bodies.
Some professional bodies are more specialised in certain areas than others but generally if the accountancy firm you are looking at using is accredited by a regulatory body then you have a high level of comfort your accountant is professionally qualified to act for you and also adhere to his bodies’ high professional and ethical standards.

The main professional bodies are the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants – ACCA; and the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales – ICAEW or ACA.

All the accountants at Accountancy Services Direct are either ACCA or ICAEW qualified with our director being a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants – FCCA.

– SIZE OF FIRM

How large is the firm you are in discussions with?

Some accountancy firms may simply be too large to offer you the best service possible for the best price.

Big city accountancy firms have high levels of fixed expenses and need to have higher charges per hour for their employees to pay for them.

Therefore a firm who are too big may be forced to charge you 2 or 3 times more than you need to be charged by a smaller accounts firm who is better suited and equipped to handle your affairs due to their smaller and more personable approach.

Although there are other points to consider we hope that considering the above you will be able to create a short list of accountancy services which maybe appropriate for you to use.
